Yes, it is the old Colonial Ice Cream site. Tom Anderson still owns the building. Colonial moved to the location where Shoney's was by the St. Charles Mall maybe 12 years ago?
In the fall of 1994, Fourth Street closed, and Coultrap was opened as an elementary school. A new middle school opened west of Randall Road between Kaneville and Fabyan Roads. A second Middle School opened on that site two years ago.
Coultrap closed at the end of this year, and the students will attend a new school located on the formerly empty fields off Williamsburg (behind St. Peter's school). Harrison Street School's students will occupy Coultrap this year while their building is being rennovated.
Plans are underway for a referendum in April that will expand the High School.
You must be class of 83 or 84? How long have you been gone?
