On the hunt...

“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:
Of shoes—and ships—
And sealing wax— of cabbages—and kings—
And why the sea is boiling hot—
And whether pigs have wings.” *

One thing of which we may choose to speak is the fact I am in between assignments at present. A kind and gentle way of saying I am looking for work. I'm not saying I'm special in any way because of this; I know there are many more people who have been out of work far longer than me.

As my CV states, I have good things to offer:

Internationally experienced wine marketing and communications professional with managerial and leadership experience in developing/driving the strengths of industry stakeholders in wine and regional tourism industries; passionate about wine, food and delivering superlative customer experiences in a tasting room environment.

My unemployment, if I may consider this a positive point, was of my choice. It became evident that I was not a good fit for the last position I held (and vice versa). Rather than being relieved of my responsibilities, I read the very large writing on the wall and gave my notice.

So, here I sit in a friend's sun room, 2000 miles from that last position, contemplating my next move. Is the wine industry wherein lies my future? Quite possibly; however, I cannot deny myself the opportunity to reach for the brass ring of new and exciting opportunities as they appear.
